I have almost 20 years experience in finance & admin roles with 12 years spent working a senior management level

My last employed role was as a School Business Manager where I was responsible for managing a £1.3m budget. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, I looked after all aspects of the running the school; from all aspects of finance and admin support to school meals and the cleaning. Basically anything that wasn’t related to teaching and learning– I let the Head teacher get on with that!

I set, managed and monitored the budget in close partnership with other senior leaders and in close consultation with the Governing Body and the Local Authority

I am also currently a Trustee with responsibility  for overseeing the business and finance functions at a local Special Needs Further Education College


How I came to be a small business owner myself…

In 2017 I found myself at a crossroads in my career path. I loved my job but I felt a bit stuck and didn’t know how I could move forward to where I wanted to be. So, I made the scary decision to go back to study full time and complete an MA Business & Management (Accounting and Finance) at Bath Spa University

While I was studying, I started working as a Virtual Assistant as a way to earn some extra cash but quickly realised I really enjoyed it, and that this could be exactly the opportunity I was looking for!

And as a result…… Mariposa Virtual Business Services was born and has continued to grow into a team of bookkeeping and admin experts ready to help you run your business more effectively, efficiently and most importantly with less stress on your shoulders

After setting up and running my own business I fully understand what it is to be a small business owner and how hard it is to let someone else take over aspects of your business. Which is why I will always ensure that you are fully informed every step of the way
